This project includes the demolition of an existing outdated classroom building and the addition of a new education wing, with interior renovations to a portion of the existing facility including lighting, HVAC, ADA and Life Safety upgrades.
The education wing is a 3 story structure that provides a continuous circulation connection between two existing buildings. The new wing will provide meeting rooms, classrooms, performance areas and lounging spaces for youth and young children. A secure pick-up/drop-off lobby and age group classrooms are provided for nursery services that also doubles as weekday education for small children, toddlers and infants. As parents drop their children off they are invited to socialize in either the new coffee lounge or the existing family life center that is also used as a large multipurpose room.
The scope of this project included the demolition of the existing building and construction of a new one story 2,000 square foot Visitors Center. Program includes a lobby with common area and space for historical interpretive panels, a small gift shop, offices for rangers, a staff breakroom, conference/meeting room for up to 30 people, large porch that can be used as an outdoor classroom, and restrooms for both staff and park visitors. This project was a log structure, designed to fit within the surroundings and included design elements similar to the nearby historical Wynnewood log structure.
New Housing Unit, and renovation of the existing administrative offices, and support facilities, including new booking/intake, program activity areas, medical functions, laundry and food service, as well as, security hardware and electronics upgrades to the existing jail facility and adjacent Justice Center.
